iReader SmartOS USB Debugging
I foolishly upgraded my SmartOS firmware on the iReader Ocean 2, limiting my ability to sideload APKs. I attempted to try and find alternative ways to sideload apps.
I was able to find a way to get into SmartOS' Android settings and enable USB debugging and find some additional information, however it seems like the system is heavily modified to prevent detection via ADB/Android Studio (I tried macos and Windows). I'm leaving this here hoping it will help someone else. I attempted utilizing the existing ZhangyueAppStore repositories from Github, however those rely on older versions of SmartOS where the connection is not TLS terminated. The only way to work around that is to load mitm CA certificates into the Android system, which still needs to be figured out. https://github.com/akhan23wgu/iReader-Zhangyue-USBDebug |
