Flash Fiction Day
Never Knew there was one.
Older article but good one. Flash Fiction Day is June 24 this year. "It's National Flash Fiction Day on Wednesday – the first one ever – and it's an exciting day for me and many others who specialise in this particular truncated form of prose. ...." https://www.theguardian.com/books/20...-flash-fiction Last edited by kennyc; 06-11-2017 at 11:47 AM. |

Maybe because that's cos they're over, like, in a flash?
So far I've never had anything that felt like flash fiction to me. A few ideas felt short from the time I first sat down with them, but short for me is still a some thousands of words. ... I think it's mostly to do with what interests me to read, and I've never really appreciated flash fiction as some people obviously do. |

One thing that I find helps in coming up with Flash is what I call the "3 noun method." You choose a random person, place and thing and use them to come up with a story idea. For example: Dr. ,public park, pogo stick.

Dr. Martin picked up the torn note lying next to the pogo stick as an errant wind tossed the other half high into the air and over the head of a honking goose. He started to read: This pogo stick was left in a public park for one purpose. Please stick it up your Dr. Martin's attempt was valiant. |
