Free (nook/Kindle/Kobo) The Pearl Locket [1940s-2010s Timeslip Family Suspense Drama]

The Pearl Locket by Bournemouth-resident author Kathleen McGurl is her standalone literary historical/contemporary family suspense drama with sfnal timeslip elements (or maybe it's supernatural intergenerational communication of some sort; the customer reviews I skimmed weren't too detailed on the actual mechanism), switching between the WWII-era homefront of the 1940s and the modern day, as a family moves into an inherited home and begins to uncover secrets apparently tied to the previous generations, as members from both eras begin to find their lives entwining in strange and disturbing ways, free courtesy of publisher Harlequin UK's Carina imprint.

Currently free @ B&N UK, Amazon UK, iTunes UK, and Kobo (available to the UK and apparently also in Japan as well when I spot-checked assorted regional stores). Likely also free at Google Play for the eligible countries.

And this has been the (late!) selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.

I've always had a fondness for WWII homefront stuff, and having some sort of sfnal timeslip element in it is a nice bonus indeed.

Enjoy!

Description
We’ll Meet Again…

When Ali inherits her great-aunt’s house she immediately moves her whole family in, despite the warnings that there is something strange about the place.

Unfazed Ali begins redecorating, going through the rooms, making each one her own with the help of her daughter, Kelly. But when under the wallpaper in Kelly’s new room they discover a scrawled message from 1944 Ali begins to question the history of the house as she knows it.

Her family has always seemed so picture perfect, not a blemish or a secret to be found. Yet, this discovery throws her into confusion and Ali begins to question exactly what she knows about her family and the mysteries they have kept hidden…

Perfect for fans of The Emerald Comb, Rachel Hore and Kate Morton
