date of publication

Is there a way that one can tell calibre to go out and check the publish date on library entries. I just noticed that I have a bunch of books without any publish dates and the only way I can see to do that is to individually download the metadata for each book which is a bit time consuming.

Thank you................

That is the safest way. All other ways risk other changes.

BTW you can do this in semi-bulk. Select a bunch ( <10 ): Ctrl D : < I prefer to use the review button and step thru each result, using the field arrows to keep MY choice (destination blanks auto fill from the right side) > YMMV
