Weird behaviour after disconnecting from PC
This morning, my Aura HD (FW 3.3.0) got stuck on the "connected and charging" screen after I - correctly!! - disconnected it from my computer. I tried, in this order: on/off-slider, reconnecting to PC, pinhole reset, all to no avail.
So as a last resort before thinking about a factory reset, I connected the device to a wall charger - SUCCESS! The reader is working again; one weird thing though: The tiles on the home screen were mixed up. The book I had been reading didn't show up in the largest tile, but in one of the smaller ones - reading progress had been saved correctly at where I had stopped reading, however. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Just interested because my Aura HD has been the epitome of reliability so far - 15 months of heavy use and no serious problems so far... |

I've seen the refusal to acknowledge the USB disconnect numerous times (and have mentioned it during some of the beta builds).

Maybe a small db error?
Log off from your Kobo account (on your device) and log on again. |

Thanks for your replies. Tried it again and this time the disconnect was without problem. Should it occur again, I'll try your suggestion, Anak.

This happens to me sometimes. I believe it's more of a bug on Kobo's side, when the reader doesn't recognize that it has been disconnected. What I do is poke the reset button and everything is alright...

In regards to the suggestion that you might have a database issue, I'd recommend Calibre with davidfor's Kobo Utilities so you can easily run a database check along with backup and restore capability You can also use a SQLite database utility to do the database check but for most people, davidfor's solution is handier.
