I know a lot of people liked this one, but I thought it sucked. If you're sitting on the fence you should really read some reviews on goodreads.com (or pick your fave site) to see if it's going to appeal to you.

I love fantasy, and this one fell flat with one-dimensional characters and obvious political scheming. And, oh my god, the infodumps. I would slot this one as a romance rather than fantasy, as the book focused mostly on sexual desire, and just happened to take place in a world with fallen gods. The fantastical elements were not necessary to the story and didn't add anything to it.
