Post Cablire Companion 3.1.1 on Ipad Pro 12.5 running IOS 11.1

Hi there, Newb needing help here,

Trying to update/sync my Calibre library from an iMac running OS 10.13.1 High Sierra on to a new ipad Pro 12.5" 256GB running calibre companion 3.1.1 on IOs 11.1.

Connecting to calibre as a wireless device used to work but now times out at "get list of books on device" stage giving this error report:

calibre, version 3.11.1
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

Device closed the network connection

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 87, in run

File "site-packages/calibre/devices/smart_device_app/driver.py", line 641, in _call_client
ControlError: Device closed the network connection

Does anyone have any suggestions where I'm going wrong. Really grateful for any advice and apologies if this is posted in the wrong topic/thread.

Moved to the CC forum, where you're much more likely to get help.

Can you send a debug log after trying to connect? It's at the bottom of the settings menu.

In my case less disk space (temp folder) was the problem
Selecting less books the transfer was no problem
Maybe a clearer message popup in this case there a good solution.
