Christopher and Columbus was published in 1919, and set in 1916. It tells the story of orphaned adolescent twin daughters of an English mother and a Prussian father who had escaped from Germany and were sent to America by their English aunt's husband, and an American man who fell in love with them.

The text was taken from the www.online-literature.com website and checked against the Doubleday, Page & Company 1919 edition in the Internet Archive. I have silently corrected typos, curled quotes, restored italics and diacritics, made changes to spelling, punctuation, and hyphenation using oxforddictionaries.com, and added translations of French and German words with the help of people on the Deutsches and Français forums.
