Archos 5 internet tablet
Auf Wunsch wollte ich hier meine ersten Eindrücke zum Archos 5 internet tablet kurz schildern.
Hier einmal ein Link zur Produktbeschreibung. Archos Übersicht Hier noch ein nettes Unboxing: Das Archos 5 wurde von mir angeschafft um Ebooks zu lesen, im Internet zu surfen, kleine Videos anzuschauen und eigene Fotos anderen zu zeigen. Und all das kann es auch sehr gut. Neben diesem kann es natürlich auch Musik abspielen, Radio empfangen und mit Zusatzgeräten auch Fernsehen, aber das ist für mich erstmal nicht von Interesse, dafür habe ich andere Geräte. Da das Archos 5 ein Android Tablet ist, kann es auch mit einem speziellen Programm auf den Google Market Place zugreifen, Archos hat aber auch einen eigenen Store (AppsLib) mit vielen kostenlosen Apps speziell für die Archos Geräte angepasst. Zu den teilweise schlechten Kritiken auf Amazon muss man sagen, dass die Software inzwischen weiterentwickelt wurde. Ich kann also die diversen Abstürze etc. nicht bestätigen.Bis jetzt läuft das Gerät schnell und problemlos. Ich habe die 8 GB Fash-Version mit einer zusätzlichen 8 GB Micro SD. Für mich vollkommen ausreichend, sofern man nicht größere Datenmengen mit sich herumtragen möchte. Es ist vergleichbar mit den auf dem Markt befindlichen Smartphones, halt ohne die Telefon-Funktion. Das Gerät lässt sich sinnvoll, nur mit einem Stift oder Fingernägeln bedienen. Das ist vielleicht der Hauptkritikpunkt, der einige stören wird. Der Browser ist trotz 5 Zoll sehr gut lesbar, das hätte ich so nicht erwartet. Das Surfen auf Couch und Terrasse macht damit richtig Spaß. Der Wlan-Empfang ist gut. Das Gerät ist mit den entsprechenden Apps auch sehr gut als Ebook-Lesegerät verwendbar. Für einen kurzen Eindruck, siehe auf Youtube. Entsprechende Programme heißen Aldiko (sehr gut), FBReader, Multireader, BeamReader, PDFViewer, Kindle for Android etc. Es gibt auch sehr gute Wörterbücher z.B. von Pons oder auch praktische Verknüpfungen mit Wikipedia (sofern man im Wlan Bereich ist). Kleine Enttäuschung ist, dass ich bisher kein Readerprogramm gefunden habe, das direkt im Text eine Übersetzung bietet. (Ich muss immer erst in einem anderen Programm, das entsprechende Wort eingeben oder werde über den Browser weitergeleitet.) Zum längeren Lesen, bin ich auf dem Gerät noch nicht gekommen. Das beziehen von Literatur übers Internet ist sehr einfach. (z.B. Aldiko kann auf feedbooks u.a. zugreifen, auch eigene Epubs ohne DRM kann man bei Aldiko importieren, Kindle for Android greift auf den Kindlestore zu etc.). Trotzdem würde ich für Belletristik eher auf meinen Sony zurückgreifen. Die Internetauftritte der Weltpresse lassen sich aber sehr gut mit der „World Newspaper“-App lesen, aber auch direkt die Seiten anzusteuern mit dem Browser ist einfach und mit einer sehr guten Lupenfunktion auch problemlos. Das Gerät zieht Fingerabdrücke förmlich an. Ich habe mir deshalb noch eine Lederhülle dazu gekauft, in der ich das Gerät ohne es herauszunehmen, problemlos bedienen kann. Bei dem was Du hier schreibst finde ich viel von dem wieder, was ich gerade auf dem eDGe über Android auf der LCD-Seite des eDGe lerne. Habe über diese Seite (archosfans.com) auch schon ein paar .apk zum Test geladen. Kann die Seite allen Archos-Nutzern nur empfehlen. (Nur zum Vergleich: Kindle for Android läuft beim eGDe auf dessen ganzem 10.0'' LCD-Display (nicht aber auf der eInk-Seite). Von Aldiko habe ich bisher nur eine Version die auf Smartphone-Displaygröße läuft, das ist beim eGDe natürlich etwas witzlos.) Last edited by beachwanderer; 07-16-2010 at 04:14 AM. |

das archos 5 gibt es auch mit einer 500 gb festplatte. dann kann man es mit einer zusätzlich zu kaufenden dockingstation als videorekorder verwenden.
das archos 7 (7 zoll bildschirm) scheint mir von der größe her als lesegerät beinahe ideal. nur: in die hosentasche paßt das nicht mehr. das ipad hat ja eine tablet-schwemme ausgelöst. man muß jetzt abwarten, ob diese vielfalt der geräte der e-ink-welt nennenswert kunden abziehen. diese gefahr besteht, denke ich, schon, denn e-ink ist ein ästhetisches katastrophengebiet. |

Eine kleine Note : aldiko 2 kann nicht mit android 1.6 (und das archos 5 IT) funktioniert. Und aldiko 1 ist nichts mehr um app lib.
Ich habe einen e-mail geschenkt, wie sollte ich aldiko um meinen archos installieren zu fragen. Das ist ein reader für android, das mit 1.6 funktioniert. Aber ich finde aldiko besser http://appslib.com/applications/app.html?ida=22512 |

Perhaps it is not the latest version, but this version, Aldiko v1.2.13, runs under Android 1.5 .

funktioniert der moon+ reader nur bei mir nicht?
auf meinem archos 5 it hängt er sich auf, sobald er im inhaltsverzeichnis der epub ist (bildschirm wird schwarz). muß dann meist android neu starten. |

ich habe vor einiger zeit die neueste version vom fb-reader installiert. hier finde ich jedoch - entgegen der früheren version - keine möglichkeit, die epub mit derem format anzeigen zu lassen. es werden immer die einstellungen des fb-readers drübergebügelt.
kann man das irgendwie verhindern bzw. welches programm ist empfehlenswert, wenn man das epub in der originalformatierung anschauen möchte? |
