Help needed, remove lines in ebook
Hello people,
I'm not sure if this is the right place, but correct me if I'm wrong. In most of my ebooks I have strange lines, they don't disturb me that much, but the problem is, that it takes a really long time before a page is loaded. I have tried a couple of settings, and I want to completely remove them. The images that I have added show the lines, I tried a lot of settings and it doesn't help anything. Regards, Imrail |

Looks like broken links to either graphics or tables.

Use Sigil to have a go at editing your ePub to fix the problems.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give a look at Sigil.
@Gunnerp245: Do you know if it is possible to remove it? A lot of books I have have the same problem. It could be a "picture" or "sign" above the page, to mark a new page. |

Could you tell us please what format the ebooks are in? And whether you have converted them with calibre?
If these lines have not appeared in an book which has been converted with calibre then you may have more success asking in the forum which deals with whatever format your ebook has been published in. |

The books are in epub format.
I have converted them with calibre, from a pdf file to epub. In the original pdf file I can see some lines, but they are not the same ones as in the epub format. edit: I read the books in Aldiko, I have tried other apps, but with the same result. Last edited by imrail; 08-11-2012 at 04:23 AM. |

Sure looks like the graphic. You have to look in the code for <img> tags. Two ways to remove it;
In either case the use of REGEX will be required. Last edited by Gunnerp245; 08-11-2012 at 07:54 AM. |

It looks like the PDF > ePub conversion left in the headers and footers and all those lines are part of the header.
The only way to do the PDF > ePub conversion properly is to take the resulting ePub and A/B compare the PDF to the ePub and manually fix all the errors in the ePub due to the conversion process. You cannot convert that PDF > ePub without errors. It just isn't possible. So that is why an A/B conversion is needed. |
