Unhappy Different calibre version Mac OS X and Ubuntu 10.10

I share my calibre library via Dropbox between Mac OS X and Ubuntu 10.10
Mac OS X: calibre 0.7.47
Ubuntu: 0.7.18+dfsg-1

With the database change in 0.7.48 am I going to have compatibility problems? Am I already having them, just don't notice?

I usually do book additions and conversions on the Mac, send them to my iPhone, and just read them on the Linux machines.

I tried compiling from source, but python 2.66 is the default and even installing python2.7 didn't resolve the problems.

Thanks.

Yes, you will run into problems. Basically any ISBN changes you make on one computer will be invisible on the other. Use the calibre binary install to get the latest version of calibre. There's no need to compile from source.

Thanks! Somehow I overlooked that binary installer and went straight to the source. The binary installer worked perfectly.

So one can not share a library between Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) which is limited to 0.7.28 and recent versions.

Drat. I was afraid of that.
