There is no such thing as a good screen protector for eInk as eInk screens do no need a screen protector. The best way to protect the screen is with a case. With a case, the screen is protected from scratches.

There are e-readers that could benefit from a screen protector, the old Nooks come to mind with their failing the keys drop test.

I don't know about the Libra.

Keys *scratch*, maybe, but *drop*, nothing will really protect an eInk screen from that.

TL;DR: No, I'm with Jon, it's a terrible idea.

I'm guessing a screen protector would have helped on the above. There is also the case of a cat jumpng on the screen and scratching it.

These are from memory, so don't quote me.

Oh, those. It's already a minor miracle that it ended up with simple dents in the light guide, and not a broken substrate .

Generally I'm one to disagree with Jon, especially when the subject of cases comes up, but he's actually spot on here.

The damage to the NSTG linked above is from a remote control being dropped on it, a screen protector wont guard against that short of it being one of the glass ones, which of course adds a reflective layer to a device with a generally matte screen. And even those are not going to always prevent damage. Mostly because eink screens are more delicate than LCD screens.

Also for what it's worth the NSTG had all sorts of issues with "light holes" in the screen. The old official Nook forum was littered with examples I'd link to but BN shut that thing down after a rather failed reboot made them a pain to navigate. Yes, BN screws up Nook related things that never actually touch the Nook itself it's rather amazing.

That's why you have a case. So when you are not reading, you close the case and the keys won't scratch the screen.

That test is scare mongering. Try it with a case and see how the screen does not scratch.

I do keep my readers in cases but they can't protect the screen while you have it open for reading.

The one time I had damage other than minor scratches to an ereader screen was when something fell on it from above while I was reading, so of course the case was open. This created a divot in the screen (about 1/8 inch) though the reader continued to be operable.

Also, being a klutz, I have occasionally dropped my readers while they were open for reading so I assume this is how they have acquired scratches on the screen.

So I can see why a fellow klutz might consider the possibility of a screen protector, though I haven't tried one myself and therefore can't comment on whether that is a good idea. I expect Mglitch is right about the issue with glass protectors on an ereader. (I do have one on my smartphone.)
