On my 2.12.1 it doesn't work.
Install was ok. But when I try to open a book (which is shown now with java-icon djvu), nothing is happened.

I just noticed I forgot to put a link to the javadjvu project on the front page of the development hub. I corrected that.

@fargo:
Yep, #1 is on my todo list. Like zerospinboson wrote, it probably does not un-cache pages properly. The caching is deep within the library and it'll take a while to correct this. Unfortunately I won't have much time to work on the viewer for the next few weeks, maybe a month.
As a workaround you could enable swap space on your iLiad.

#2 is also on my to do list, maybe I can find a few hours somewhere to work on this.

I don't know about #3. I agree that it would be a good idea, but I'm not sure if the javadjvu library supports it.

@hel:
I don't have the 2.12.1 firmware, so I can't test what happens there. After opening a djvu file you could try to look in the /tmp/ktrace.log file. That might contain more information as to what is going on.

Perhaps that is why my new Iliad was not working with this... How do I downgrade firmware?

Next up, an installer. But tonight is my first wedding anniversary so it won't be tonight.
Hi Illiad gurus, I'm an Illiad newbie, I'm researching about Java Illiad SDK. However, I have not bought an Illiad yet. I intend to discovery the SDK before buying one. Could you please send me the link to download these files: irex.jar:MobipocketCoreReader.jar:decoder.zip

I'm still a bit busy at the moment, since I have to defend my PhD thesis this week. After next week I should have some more time to do all the stuff that I have been postponing.
Hopefully that includes software development for the iLiad

Anyways:
@atesta: I'm not sure whether it is possible to downgrade the firmware. Also, I think the 2.12.1 firmware version is specific for the Book Edition, so I'm not sure you should downgrade.
You could try to reflash the device, I think that resets it to an older firmware (which you are then supposed to update to the most recent version.

@iliad_fan: I could be mistaken but I think those files are not licensed under the GPL, and we're not allowed to redistribute them.

@UomoNero: You can post the ktrace.log. I'm not sure whether it'll enable me to solve your problem, but it's worth a try.

I guess it's the limited size of RAM (64 MB) caused that some djvu files can't open. There is a thread teaching how to set swap memory. I would suggest people try it.

Here's version 0.4

People who are upgrading from 0.1a should read the upgrade instructions for the 0.2 version in one of my previous posts. You can upgrade from 0.1a to 0.4 directly using these instructions.
Anybody who's upgrading from 0.2 or later can simply run the installer.

The new features of 0.4 are:
- Reduced memory usage. The rebooting issue is still not fixed, but it should happen less often.
- The panning position is saved between page flips
- The panning position and zoom are savend when closing a document (and restored upon opening the document again)

Stuff that still has to be done:
- Reduce the amount of memory used to avoid the rebooting issue
- Reduce the number of screen updates during panning
- Fix the busy led (sometimes it doesn't blink while the viewer is actually busy)
- General cleanup of the code

About the rebooting/memory usage: I'm not sure how much more I can reduce the memory usage. The code is complicated and not very well documented. I managed to turn the caching of pages of, and ripped out the code that caches the entire djvu file in memory. However, a lot of memory is being used by undocumented data structures and it's not clear to me at which point they could be removed from memory.
I'm hesitating between working on the javadjvu viewer or looking for a djvulibre based solution.

BTW the reduced caching slows the viewer down a bit. But I thought it would be better to get the memory usage down first and avoid the rebooting before looking at performance.

Are you using Chinese version iLiad? If yes, maybe there is no JavaVM on your iLiad. Java apps must run on JavaVM. If you can execute Mobipocket reader on you iLiad, then you have JavaVM.

The only legal way to install a "working" JavaVM is switching your iLiad to Europe version. You have to contact iRex to get this service. It's because the JavaVM on Eruope iLiad is not freely distributable.

If you are adventureous, you can try building a JavaVM for iLiad from some open-source JavaVM project, such as JamVM. The odd of success is unknown, and I personally think it's tiny.

If you have Eruope Iliad firmware, analyzing files in dir "/home/intent" should give you some insight to mobipocket reader and JavaVM.
