Help! Nook won't turn on

My Nook won't turn on. It was fully charged, but I've had it drain overnight before. I left it on the charger for hours and this time the light doesn't come on. So, something is wrong.

Is there some special sequence or hidden reset button I should try before sending it back to the manufacturer?

Happened to me when I first got the nook in February.

I pulled the battery out and put it back in and the nook reset itself.
I was not a happy camper since the nook was less than a week old.
Since then I have not had a bit of trouble.

Good Luck

I got it un-stuck, I'm happy to report.
I held the power button down for 20 seconds, let go, and held down again and the screen cleared after 5 seconds.

Lucky you! Mine never came back on and after 7 calls to B&N customer service, they are finally replacing my 6 week old nook with a brand new one. I do believe that I will leave in the packaging and just sell it... and get a Kindle.

Hi JDtugosz,

I've had my Nook for 3 weeks. I turned it off to insert a microSD card then it wouldn't turn on again. So I took out the SD card and still nothing. I was freaking out. Searched through posts and found your solution. Worked like a charm.

I know your post is from a long while ago, but it worked and I thank you.

Add another vote to JDługosz's solution. Mine froze up and this just worked for me too! Karma to you!
