Recommend an Android video player?
I am about to put the n2a card into my NC - when it gets here from the US - and wondered if any of you had tried an Android video app. I downloaded MoboPlayer on the offchance it will work ... Any recommendations gratefully received. (It doesn't have to be free.)
The NC video player is pretty awful! Pity, as the quality of the playing is top class. Maybe they will improve on that in future upgrades. |

I would use Moboplayer as it seemed to work great for me and cosistantly seems to be recommended on XDA developers forum

Thanks GB - I found that one via Google before I got the card and was excited as it looked great, so when I received the card yesterday I tried to install it first thing, However, it wouldn't recognize my device (i.e. the Nook).
I also found to my dismay that I can't use the Amazon Apps store, or Google Play for Australia. I must be doing something wrong. I know B&N won't allow me to shop there, which totally sucks, but I've bought heaps of downloadable stuff from Amazon for years. It just won't work via the N2A. I wonder if any of this has anything to do with the fact that the card I bought is off e-bay and therefore not (I assume) the genuine N2A. After fiddling about for an hour or so I got frustrated and removed the Android card. I mean it loads the Cyanogen interface without a hiccup and I can fiddle about, but that's where it begins and ends. |

Hoods, I think you may have to alert the seller. Most rooted cards are set up for US version of Google Play.

Thanks @DroidUser - I will try, see what he/she says. Do you know offhand if the official n2a cards can be ordered "territorially"? Idiot (me) I guess I could ask them all that stuff ........

Maybe you could try going on your browser to appbrain and load their app then using their app load apps via their site. It works for free apps at least I have done so.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/appbrain...demonkeys.apps Until you get the market sorted you could also download .apk files and with your NC connected to your computer load the .apk and install programs that way. The first program I would get is E S file explorer which allows easy LAN wireless connection to your PC and just double clicking an .apk file will load it on your nook. Here is another site for free Android downloads. Just download the apps from the site and open it via file explorer. http://www.freewarelovers.com/android

Just looked into it, apparently this tech was originally from XDA devs and the N2A people just ripped it off and charge people for it.
There is some info here: http://taosaur.blogspot.ch/2011/09/r...m-sd-nook.html The original thread is like 175 pages long, and I know they don't like support questions in dev threads over there, but there is probably a support thread somewhere. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1000957 EDIT: Continuing to look around I noticed another thread where someone already pointed you at that info. Anyway if your card doesn't work for you, you might want to try that method. E.g. there is another step for gapps. Last edited by Mujokan; 06-16-2012 at 07:55 PM. |

Further to this conversation - I eventually discovered that the best player is MX Player. It transcodes using codecs, so you can play "regular" video like MKV and AVI without any conversion - fantastic!!!
I will post this as a separate thread - might save a lot of people a lot of irritation. |
