I am not sure that understand what you mean by "hardcoding the typeface". Typeface formatting can be either saved to the EPUB file, or omitted. This depends on the corresponding option in the "Save as eBook" dialog of Atlantis Word Processor.

Atlantis Word Processor 3.2.7 adds support for horizontal lines. They are saved to EPUB as HR elements. You can find details here:

Thanks for the update notice - I've been using Atlantis (paid) since it was Atlantis Ocean Mind, SO LONG AGO! (I still miss the very pretty pretty Ocean Mind splash screen too

Yes, it was long ago. Atlantis Word Processor will turn 20 in Apr 2020.

Atlantis Word Processor 3.2.13 has been released. It introduces dark themes of the GUI:

Although this new feature is not directly linked to eBook creation, it changes the feel and look of Atlantis Word Processor. Thought some of you might find this interesting.

The real need is to be able to wrap text around pictures on either the left or right sides. This is needed for ePubs.

The latest version of Atlantis Word Processor supports floating images:
https://www.atlantiswordprocessor.co.../4_0_0_000.htm

The floating pictures (except those with the "Top and bottom" wrapping style) from the source document get saved to eBooks either left- or right-aligned (depending on their position on the document pages) with text wrapping around. Pictures with the "Top and bottom" wrapping style get saved either left-, center- or right-aligned with no text wrapping on both sides.
