New Yorker overview of Google's digitization project

Called "Google's Moon Shot", courtesy of The Book Depository, the site that offers (amazingly fast from my experience) free shipping to the US for UK books with prices only slightly higher than Amazon.co.uk (http://www.bookdepository.co.uk)

The article Google's Moon Shot is here:

Thanks for the link Liviu.

I find it interesting that the book search is considered Google's "moon shot."
Interesting analogy to create. I can only hope that this "moon shot" spurs as much development and creativity as the real one did. Unfortunately, the gist of the article argues against such development and advancement.

In a bizarre side note, has anyone ever noticed that "google" as a word meanly an approximation of infinity is flagged as a misspelling, but the at "Google" as a company is a perfectly cromulent word?

That's an interesting observation! I never thought of it as meaning infinity, however, because googol in math means a specific number... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googol
