I was able to reduce my TBR list by only buying books if the TBR was under my Dec. 2020 numbers. I also bought no fiction since I already had quite a stockpile of unread books.
Now I'm at the point where I really need to think thrice before buying non-fiction. NO history books covering events after 167BC! Or Egypt. NO science books covering topics where I have unread books! NO new translations of classics if I already have a well regarded, modern translation I haven't read. NO travel books or memoirs when I've only read one last year. |

I started this thread, and have found it useful. But sometimes I also marvel that we now have such ready access to reading material that the problem is not finding too much.

And in response to a PM questioning my reading stats, see the attached image. Note that those numbers included several re-reads. |

On average, 90 minutes per 372 page book, 15 seconds per page. Evelyn Wood would be proud.

Well, generally the users in this thread are buying more than they can ever read. You are somewhat of a statistical outlier, I would think.

Only if they are paper books taking up space and not being reread. For e-content, it is no longer an issue after being read, IMHO.
So far, 2 books purchased on deep discount that are part of series already reading. Last edited by Tarana; 01-06-2022 at 11:51 AM. |

I read 12 books in January, nine from TBR and 3 from KU. I only bought one book this month, so my TBR is now at 224.

January's over! I only bought 1 (one) book!
I think that's my lowest monthly purchase total since I started buying ebooks! |
