First time user - a Calibre challenge
Triggered by several readers, I just tried to convert the 6th volume of my free Motion Mountain physics text (a 9 MB pdf, free download from www.motionmountain.net) with Calibre. But the result is disappointing. Is there a way to improve the result with simple tricks, or will this have to wait for some time?

Too bad Indesign does not include round trip from PDFs.
Use Adobe Acrobat to convert the PDF to RTF and get that the way you like it. Much easier converting RTF to EPub. InDesign will do that. Robert |

InDesign wont be able to convert PDfs well either. Nothing can, that's the nature of PDF

What was the source format from which you created the PDFs -- that's surely your best candidate for conversion?

The text of Motion Mountain is written in latex, and then coverted to dvi, then to pdf. So there is a latex (ascii) original, with the logical markup, but also with the formulas written in latex.

Can you generate HTML from the latex source? That would be the best option to give Calibre.

I got nothing constructive to add, just wanted to say that I'd love to have your text in ePub format!.

No direct or specific assistance... But I thought another topic on a similar subject reported excellent output. I think it was using Mathlab(?) but otherwise the same process - as I recall things. Should be recent >90 days old.
