Kindle PW dead, refuses to goes on
Has anyone experienced this? ...
I know is fully charge. No broken screen. Hasn't been dropped, but can't turn it on. Yeah, I tried pressing the power on button even with the USB cable connected and plugged to the wall. |

If the power button is anything like the K4B it takes some doing to hold it down for a long time. I had mine freeze up due to a bad book and I couldn't get it to hard reset. I wasn't holding the button down even though I thought I was. After a few tries it finally rebooted and started back up.

Try to connect it to your PC, that can do the trick to wake him up.

Press and hold the power button until the screen flashes white - this may take 20-30s. This will reboot the device.

First, charge overnight. Then hold power button down for 30 seconds.
If all fails, return to Amazon as a defective unit for full refund with shipping both ways from the Order page. Then buy a brand new one. |

There's no reason to suppose that your PW is faulty. You probably put something on it that it didn't like.

I had the same trouble for the first few days, and I'm not 100% sure my theory is right, but I suspect it was the magnetic sleep acting up. I could mash the power button all day trying to get it to wake, but if I ran a small magnet over the lower right corner, everything was hunky dory. I do have a magnetized device in my opposite pocket, so it's possible the two were interfering with each other.
Either way, if this happens to you again or anyone else has the trouble and isn't using the magnetized amazon cover, find a small magnet and see if that'll wake it. |

I had to hard reboot mine once because the light refused to illuminate.
A reset fixed it and I haven't had a problem since. If this was a one time incident, I wouldn't worry about a replacement yet. |
