New tiny readers showing up?
I periodically search to see if I can find a new 5" reader worth playing with, hoping to find something new that's not been talked about and ran across these tiny little readers that I think are fairly recent. 3.1 (some say 3.2) inch screen with a front-light...
This thing is diminutive! Would be an interesting toy, if I could replace the OS with KOReader somehow. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807074096309.html https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805339421267.html They look like the same device to me, but different user interfaces, which makes me wonder if this is a development platform that I can buy somewhere to play with. EDIT: And another different one: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806084393485.html Last edited by twowheels; 10-17-2024 at 05:57 PM. |

Even more interesting, but no light:
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806517730928.html Looks fairly quick, though there' s a lot of jump cuts making it hard to be sure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uRKhdaT90w I'd really like to have a very tiny pocket reader -- wish Kobo would make another 5" reader w/ modern specs. |

I'd be interested in something vaguely around the same form factor as a smartphone if I could get the Kindle app on it.

There are a few, the InkPalm 5 (which I've been seriously considering), and the Boox Palma -- but I want something a bit more square and smaller than the Palma.

I've got a Woster Scriba i95s. No front light or touch screen, and very bad library management, but very useful for carrying it in small bags or when I'm going to be all the day carrying it.

I've seen those on Amazon under other brand names. I don't care about library management (I tend to keep only a few books on my device at a time) nor light for my daytime reading, so that might not be so bad.
