Syncing?

Hello,

This is probably a silly question, but I can't seem to find the answer.

If I add several books to my Calibre library, how can I then automatically send only these new books to the Kindle? I can select each individually and click "Send to device" one at a time, but it's not always easy to pick out the latest additions in the full list of books. I can send all the books to the Kindle, but that takes ages. Surely there is a better way?

Thanks.

I don't think calibre can sync with Kindle, but I may be wrong.

But you can sort by "Date" in calibre so your newly added books are always at the top.

Personally, I created a custom yes/no column and whenever I send a book over to the Kindle I mark it with a nice check mark. I usually end up emailing books straight from calibre to the Kindle, and can't see in calibre which books are already on the Kindle so I found this to be the easiest way to keep track.

Also, you don't have to send books one at a time, you select several books at once, then click Send to Device.

Another way is to use the "ondevice:false" in the search after Calibre recognizes your Kindle. This will show only the books that haven't been sent to your Kindle by Calibre.

Oh cool, I didn't realize that worked with emailed books. Thanks for the tip.

I'm not sure that it will work with books emailed to the Kindle. I usually use the USB and when Calibre reads my Kindle I get a new column that shows a check if the book is on it. It also tells me when I have duped a book on the Kindle. If you get a new column with checks, then it will work.
