Reset VCOM or go into test mode

Hi

I bought a new screen to repair a cracked screen T2. With the help of a YouTube video I managed to take it apart replace the screen and get it back into one piece. The reader works normally apart from the screen does not refresh properly, words from the previous page show as pale shadows.

I have read posts elsewhere that indicate this is because the new screen is a different voltage to the original and I have read how to alter VCOM in the service manual. However I need a file to copy onto the reader to put it into "test mode". The service manual does not even say what the name of this file is.

Does anyone know where to get this file or an alternate method to set VCOM on a PRS-T2?

A very helpful person on YouTube gave me the file name to allow me to put my reader into test mode and my screen is now ghost free.

If anyone else is looking for the file name it is;

Hi, thanks for this info, Could you explain more in detail about what else you did? I have succeded in going to test mode but when I'm trying to change vcom voltage it says some file is missing...
I've read about the need of LUT file, (apparently comes from Sony), but they don't answer to my emails...

I can help a little but not completely as I have forgotten some of the detail.

To set my voltage I had to create a text file that contained the correct voltage figure, copy that file to my reader via USB and then put the reader into test mode. As I recall there was then a button to reset voltage that would make the reader look in that file. I seem to remember the reader doesn't tell you when it is finished, so just wait a little while and restart it.

What I don't remember is what to call the text file or where to copy it, probably the root folder.

I hope this gives you a little help in your quest for a decent screen image.

Not surprised that Sony aren't helping.

Got a bit more info.

The file should be called lut.bin.

On the reader drive you need to make a new folder called,

\testmode\data

Copy the lut.bin file into that folder.

I had to have a couple of tries as it isn't obvious how you type the new voltage number into the file. Might have had a leading zero and no decimal point but really don't remember as it was a few years ago and I don't seem to have a copy of the file.

Many thanks! I'll try to make something with your clues.
Best regards
