Best case for PRS-600?

So, I put in my order for a black PRS-600. I'm looking forward to having a reader again. I had the original PRS-500 and loved it but sold it for some reason... (I honestly don't remember why.)

I see that the new reader doesn't come with the flip case of previous models. Any thoughts on that? Is the included sleeve sufficient?

I almost bought the M Edge 505 case but I really dislike the corner hook design. If I want to avoid that I guess my only options are the sony cases. Anyone have any feedback on those?

No feedback on the Sony cases, but has anyone looked at the BookArmor case for the 600? I like that it attaches to the case so it won't fall out, but in the photos it looks like there's lots of space at the top and bottom. Does it fit more snugly than it looks?

I'd really like to find a zipper style case that attaches to the holes at top and bottom of the reader like the Sony cases. Does anyone know of any like that?

I received my 600 a few days ago. I don't think the sleeve included has a high protection value. It is made from a soft material and looks kinda cheap I'm looking for a better one, anyone any suggestions?

I received my 600 yesterday, and the included sleeve is not enough to protect it. It's too thin in my opinion.

In my order I included the Sony standard cover for the 600 which does the job fine. It fits in the holes on top and bottom of the reader and is sturdy. It's a flip-over casing with a leatherlook on the outside (not sure whether it is real leather, smells that way though) and a soft fabric on the inside.

It cost me 29,95 euro's I believe.

I'll get my Sony 600 tomorrow. But I've already got the Sony 300 and I guess the sleeve will be the same.
It's okay, but I'll definitely go for a cover.
a.) It's no leather, it hasn't got any protective "shield".
It will protect fine against dirt, but I'm not so sure about pressure against the display.
b.) I simply prefer flip-covers over sleeves. When on the train for example, I never know where to put the sleeve. And opening the flip cover reminds more of opening an actual paper book...
I've ordered the Sony covers for Sony 300 and 600 already.
I've got the Sony covers for Sony 505 and 700 and really like them. Very compact, elegant and efficient.

I agree about the pouch - only good to pack it in and ship it.

I'm using the m-edge ($14.99 on Amazon). I like it because of the little flap that tucks in and holds the cover closed (I'm a Klutz and have injured electronics as a result) when I'm carrying it with me. The cover folds back 100% and I tuck the little flap under itself so it isn't in the way.

Upside - cool little pockets including one that fits my IPOD classic
It's real leather and suede - looks nice.
Downside - it's real leather, so it's a bit heavier and bulkier than I expected. When I'm reading in bed, I often take it off.

I also have the M-Edge case for the 505. It fits the 600 beautifully.

Edited again: I just realized tonight that one of the bottom straps is pressing on the volume button and making the battery drain faster, apparently. Although the case is leather, those straps seem to be vinyl. I'm tempted to just trim that strap a little because I really do like the case.

I could be wrong, but I think the interior is actually a fabric that looks like suede, not the real thing.

Edited to ask Grandma Aubbie: Do you store the iPod in the case? Aren't you afraid the iPod will crack or damage the screen on your reader?

Haven't tried it, but I kind of like the look of this case from Javoedge

http://www.javoedge.com/reflexeshop/...ony+reader+700

They also sell an anti-glare screen protector that might be interesting considering some of the glare issues folks have had.

I have the case for the Sony 600 that is from the Sony Style website. I have a silver 600 and a brown "premium" case. It is definitely better than the little slipcover that is included but I am not that impressed with the case. It looked much better in the picture on the website and I really don't think that it is going to protect my reader that much better than the slipcover. Maybe I am just anxious because the reader is such an expensive gadget and I don't want it to get broken but the case doesn't seem that sturdy to me. The cover looks nice enough though.

Hey Grandma Aubbie, I am getting a 600, and based on your fine review, and others, I purchased one of the m-edes on sale. It is very nice. Am keeping my 505 in it til my 600 arrives.

See my note above about the strap pressing the volume button on the 600. I love the way the cover looks, so I just took my Swiss Army knife and nipped out a piece of the strap to get it off the volume button.

With respect to the Sony cases - what does everyone think? I have to wait in any event because the cases are all on backorder (even though as far as I can tell they have barely sold any PRS600's in Canada due to complete unavailability in the stores or at the SonyStyle store...sigh). So, do I get a red cover to go with my red 600 or should I get the integrated booklight one... I have not been much of a booklight type to date since I live alone and don't have to worry about anyone but myself but I can see situations where a booklight would be useful... The question then becomes, how unwieldly is the cover and how well does the booklight work to make it worth my while to have it for the few occasions when I might want it? Thoughts?

I have a Book Armor case I got for my 700. You need a regular cover to clip the reader into and then the front and back slips into the Book Armor cover.

That javoedge case appears to be the Tuff-luv case.

They mailed me this morniong to say they expect the cases to be in in the next couple of weeks.

I havn't got one for my 600 obviously) but the 505 case is excellent.
