Well, I went ahead and spent £40 to get my free £5.99 book.
Eh? OK, I converted £40 to slightly less flexible gift card* credit in order to get my free book. *It has to be a non-Sainsburys gift card, or you'd double-dip. |

Thanks for the "heads up." I will remove the bookmark that I have in my browser for them as a new bookseller. Reminds me that I need to do that also for Hastings and other recently deceased booksellers.

Sainsbury's are supposed to send emails to their departing customers by October 25.
With 7 working days to go... has anyone had the mail yet? I have not. |

Didn't know about Hastings. They don't have one in my area of DFW, but I used to go to their store all the time in Idaho when I lived there. Sorry to see them go.

I am registered with Sainsburys as I was a Nook customer but I haven't received any email at all, not even one telling me they are closing.

I've only received the initial email and an email about refunding me for magazine and movie purchases. I wouldn't worry about not receiving the email, they will get it out.

On a more promising note the kobo transfer page says they are going to give everyone a £10 voucher valid to the end of the year for everyone who migrates their library. |

That would be good. A small consolation for losing access to all my Fictionwise purchases that didn't transfer when nook UK shut down. (They only transferred books bought at nook UK.)

I think I'm a forgotten transfer from Nook. I had no books to come over as all my Nook books were from Fictionwise and I've bought nothing from Sainsburys so I guess I'll never hear anything from Sainsburys. As I already have a Kobo account my chances of being recognised as a Sainsburys customer and getting the £10 is practically zero.

I have one or two books bought as Sainsbury's, so I'm hoping the transfer to Kobo works for those.

I would quite like the free money, and yes, it would be nice to get my Sainsburys books transferred, but I only have a handful (largely bought with the Nook transfer money I didn't really deserve, having never knowingly opened a Nook account) and I've backed them up myself, so it's not a huge bother.
