Take the launcher out of the overall problem...

And here a more noob question: How can I add things to this desktop? Are there special packages needed?

ssh into the device...

apt-get update (this will pull down the latest available "things" and their location)

you can add things to your apt repository list if the default things available aren't enough.
Things can go wrong though.... installing aptitude is never a bad idea. (other than space)
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=103

apt-cache search whatever (where, "whatever" is what you are searching for)

apt-get install whatever

(there are a few posts on this thread of me doing this with examples)
EDIT: HERE https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=29

hope that helps.

Other things:

Rsyncing other profiles on and off the device...

what I do at the start.. (where you are I think)

Thanks. Yea, I know a little bit about dpkg and apt-get becasue I chose this distribution becasue it was more better to control and didn't eat so much performance.

That's to costly for me because I am Windows user and why I should backup in an virtual system when I can backup the debian.ext3 with Windows too. But thanks that you had an another alternative when i maybe switch to Ubuntu or like this.

okay. the .desktop files live in the debian filesystem "somewhere.." you can make them by hand or let the installer do the job.

"Costly" = yep perfect use of the word.

FREE rsync for windows https://www.itefix.no/i2/sites/all/m....zip&nid=13220

Spoiler:
C:\Program Files (x86)\cwRsync\bin>cd "C:/Program Files (x86)/cwRsync/bin"
C:\Program Files (x86)\cwRsync\bin>rsync.exe
Quote:
rsync version 3.0.7 protocol version 30
Copyright (C) 1996-2009 by Andrew Tridgell, Wayne Davison, and others.
Web site: http://rsync.samba.org/
Capabilities:
64-bit files, 64-bit inums, 32-bit timestamps, 64-bit long ints,
socketpairs, hardlinks, symlinks, IPv6, batchfiles, inplace,
append, ACLs, no xattrs, iconv, symtimes

rsync comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free software, and you
are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions. See the GNU
General Public Licence for details.

rsync is a file transfer program capable of efficient remote update
via a fast differencing algorithm.

Usage: rsync [OPTION]... SRC [SRC]... DEST
or rsync [OPTION]... SRC [SRC]... [USER@]HOSTEST
or rsync [OPTION]... SRC [SRC]... [USER@]HOST:EST
or rsync [OPTION]... SRC [SRC]... rsync://[USER@]HOST[:PORT]/DEST
or rsync [OPTION]... [USER@]HOST:SRC [DEST]
or rsync [OPTION]... [USER@]HOST::SRC [DEST]
or rsync [OPTION]... rsync://[USER@]HOST[:PORT]/SRC [DEST]
The ':' usages connect via remote shell, while '::' & 'rsync://' usages connect
to an rsync daemon, and require SRC or DEST to start with a module name.

I have a question about Netsurf. Is it normally that the keyboard close his self when I press on the webpage and is it normally that it doesn't open when I click on an input from a webpage to write something??? When I press on an input from the Browser the keyboard opens normally...
Maybe I have to set up something?

Say what?

You aren't going to port KDE to the Kindle?

Oh, man, next thing you will be telling us you will not be porting OpenOffice to the Kindle.

PS: to the non-software tech. readers - either of the above would take more than one person's lifetime to do.
