Free (DRM-free) Gates of Azyr [Warhammer Sci-Fi Fantasy RPG History Tie-In Novella]

The Gates of Azyr by Chris Wraight (ISFDB) is apparently the establishing 1st story in the novelizations of the Warhammer Age of Sigmar setting of the popular sci-fi/fantasy hybrid RPG wargame universe (Wikipedia), this installment adapting some of the backstory of it into a novella, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Games Workshop's Black Library imprint.

This is a featured supplementary Free Book in the iTunes UK store, and we've previously received the backstory-providing guidebook, which is still free: Warhammer Age of Sigmar Primer

Currently free @ iTunes (available to Canadians and pretty much everywhere worldwide that has a full-service iTunes store, i.e. not Iceland).

ETA: turns out this is also free directly from the publisher's webstore (DRM-free ePub & Mobi available worldwide), and Amazon UK (doesn't seem to exist in North America)

The Black Library seem to be offering an ebook/audiobook advent calendar promotion, but as far as I can tell, it's for showcasing daily brand-new releases and not freebies, although there is a deal to get the entire lot of them at a discount which effectively gives you 6 titles free, according to the ad blurb, if you think you might be interested.

The war is over, and the Mortal Realms have all but fallen to Chaos... Khorgos Khul rampages across the fiery Realm of Aqshy, hunting down mortal kind to slaughter or subjugate to Khorne. His Goretide have crushed all resistance... until the storm. From the heavens hurtle paladins clad in gold. Sent by Sigmar, the Stormcast Eternals have come to liberate all the realms from the yoke of Chaos. Their leader is Vandus Hammerhand, Lord-Celestant of the Hammers of Sigmar. After a long age of darkness, there is hope. Vandus must open the Gates of Azyr to unleash Sigmar’s righteous fury against the damned. Everything depends on his victory.

It’s your first chance to enter the mortal realms and see Sigmar’s chosen warriors in action – heroes of heavenly magic in god-forged armour who ride the storm and bring death to the servants of Chaos, in this case the dreaded Goretide. The perfect place to start exploring the Age of Sigmar.

Thanks for the notice! For some reason I only saw the hardcover limited edition in their catalogue when I browsed their site, and nothing showed at Kobo, Google Play, or Amazon CA.
