Arizona Law by British author and editor Philip Harbottle (ISFDB, Science Fiction Encyclopedia), based on a manuscript by the late John Russell Fearn (ISFDB, Wikipedia), is a standalone western historical adventure novel with strong suspense elements, starring a plucky young fish-out-of-water lady who finds that life on the frontier in Arizona is not at all what she had been expecting, as she gets caught up in intrigue which lands her on the run for the obligatory crime she did not commit, free courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press's Pioneering imprint, who are e-printing it from its 2004 edition originally out from Robert Hale.

Arriving from a privileged background in New Orleans, Sylvia Carfax thought she was headed to a life of prosperity when she stepped off the train in Arrowhead Bend…

Unfortunately for the young dame, she was very much mistaken.

Sylvia soon discovers her love interest, Neil Grantham, may have mislead her slightly on his wealth.

Yet before she can hightail it out of the Wild West, she must first prove if she can survive in these harsher climes.

Unable to return to her previous life, Sylvia must sink or swim.

Will she become a ranch worker or an outlaw’s sidekick?

Will she heed the advice of her potential mother in law, the formidable Ma Grantham, or rather fall for the wily charms of the smooth-talking Carl Naylor?

Things come to a head after she is implicated, along with Neil, and the mysterious Indian Fleeting Cloud in a crime they did not commit.

Can Sylvia get her head around the Arizona Law before time runs out?
