Free (ADE-DRM) Royko in Love by Mike Royko [Pulitzer-Awarded Columnist Memoir]

Royko in Love: Mike's Letters to Carol by the late Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper columnist Mike Royko (Wikipedia entry), edited by David Royko, is a collection of his columns and letters and reminisces regarding his late wife, free courtesy of the University of Chicago Press as their free e-book of the month.

Free as an ADE-DRM book (usually PDF, but sometimes ePub; I don't have time to download and check today) for all of June @ the University of Chicago Press website, in return for your email address.

Description (cribbed from the email, since the one on the site is basically just blurb praise from Roger Ebert)
In his Pulitzer Prize-winning columns Mike Royko wielded words like weapons, like skewers: street-smart and piercingly perceptive. In the letters collected in Royko in Love he deployed words to an utterly different end: to woo the love of his life. This book of letters and photos is the story behind Royko's most-requested column (and prologue to this book), "November Farewell," the elegy he wrote following the premature death of his wife, Carol, at age forty-four.
