Kindle for PC downloading broken - worldwide?

Downloads to "Kindle for PC" have been broken from amazon.co.uk all day. Kindle CS (in South Africa) confirmed that it was broken for them, too.

Is it working from amazon.com?

I can download to my KT - it's just the K4PC app that can't download today.

I thought it was just me. I had a problem with it yesterday, though I did manage to sideload the book and read it on my Kindle okay, just not on Kindle for PC.

Works OK in USA - just tested ... still on version 1.4 (for tool safety)

I don't know, but something is going on at Amazon. I've had a new story/title in "Publishing" status on my dashboard for 4 days now and even though it is available to purchase it is not on my author dashboard/bookshelf nor listed under my Author page. It's happening to many people and they are claiming it is 'normal' but it's never done this before.

I'm thinking the problems may be related.

Still broken

. Just phoned CS again who say that the issue is with their support staff who are still "investigating".

Still broken. Kindle CS have now told me that it may not be fixed until Thursday next week - apparently when they pass calls to their "back room" support teams they have a standard time-frame of a week to fix the problem. I'll be interested to see what happens if they can't fix it. Will they give me a refund for the the 426 books that I've bought from them?

We shall see

Why should they do that? You have, after all, downloaded and archived them all already.
