Aura HD won't charge
Ran into a weird problem. My Kobo was reporting 35%. So I plugged it in overnight. When I unplugged it, it went immediately from "Charged" back to 35%.
Now it's completely discharged. I'm worried that when I unplug it, it won't have charged at all. Any thoughts? |

If it's completely discharged, plug it in _now_, to a wall charger or awake computer.
What was it plugged into? I'm wondering if you'd plugged it into an awake computer, it charged, so the screen was showing "Charged"; but then the computer fell asleep and drained charge. Your best next bet is to plug it into a wall charger. If it doesn't charge, change the cable. If that doesn't work, call Kobo. |

It completely discharged. I've plugged it into this computer; it's reporting "Charged" (which is impossible.) If I unplug it, it immediately shuts itself off.
I think I'll be calling Kobo this weekend. Grrrr. I'm using the USB cable that I use to charge my phone. Definitely not the cable. |

I would plug it in to a wall charger right now. The usual power-off and resets might be a good plan too.

It's definitely worth trying the cable that came with the Aura HD or a cable you know is a standard one. |

Aura HD won't charge - Resolved
So, I've been in touch with Kobo regarding my Aura HD. They're shipping me out a new one immediately.
This was my first time dealing with the revamped Kobo Customer Service department. For the most part, it was quite positive. They were a little slow when I first wrote them Saturday. I didn't get any response until Sunday morning. Since then, it's was pretty much as expected. I got back in touch twice via the webform. While one attempt it took them an hour or so to get back to me, the other was indeed within five minutes. After reading a few accounts of returns here, I was happy to see that they will be sending me a pre-paid mailer to return the defective unit. So this has been resolved in three days, with only one full regular business day (Monday.) Pretty good for remote support, imho. For anyone curious, the spoiler button includes the e-mail chain. I've removed all my personal data (including the incident report #.) Spoiler:
