Loaded it.
It still doesn't load the SD card books to the front screen unless I display the library first/ |

Would be really damn nice if they would post firmware release notes as to what has been changed or fixed.

From what I can tell, when the number does not change, it is not anything we will see on our devices. 2.6.1 is 2.6.1.

I do notice a change with the latest 2.6.1, I now have a "Sync" tile on my home screen that was not there until today when I had to reset my Glo. Plus I cannot seem to dismiss it.

That has been part of the Interface on the Aura for quite awhile. I believe it was on the Glo in 2.6.1 as well. The sync tile is not dismissable. Kobo staff told the beta group that there are no changes on the user end with this bug update.

By any chance had you used Davidfor's Kobo Utility plugin previously to dismiss that tile from the home screen? If so, the reset might have undone the change he had made to the database to ensure that the Sync tile could be removed.

That utility while it may be useful is perhaps the most dangerous utility out there. it plays with your Kobo data base and you run the risk of servere corruption leading to many hours of frustration. Use it at your own risk.

Jack... Sigh... Why do you have this reaction to calibre, and to add-ons within calibre.
All the dismissal of an icon from the home screen requires is a single SQL update to change the value of a column for a given row in the Activity table from false to true. This is done either manually by the user in the plugin, or automatically via a standard SQL Trigger on any and all updates to that table. This is a standard SQL database using the SQLite engine which is designed to be cross platform. Other functions of this plugin also use the database for different purposes; some of which are read only, others read/write. However, to call any of these DANGEROUS is a massive EXAGGERATION. |

Not to mention it includes a backup database option for the squirrelly.
