Boyeu T63 problems

Hey there, I recently got the JDReader T63 from banggood and am having some issues with it that may not be hardware related. If so, it would be nice to not have to send it all the way back to China for another one. The problem seems to be firmware related, the firmware it shipped with had some weird issues regarding pop-ups being all black and the touch screen being nonresponsive coming out of sleep mode. So I flashed the supposedly stock firmware from this thread. This solved the weird black boxes problem but not the sleep-disabling-touch-screen problem. I also tried the modified Onyx Carta firmware found in the same thread but it made everything extremely slow and the touch screen was inaccurately registering my input. If anyone has any ideas how to fix this or even a workaround I would be very grateful.
