The Watchers by Dean Koontz is more of a thriller than a mystery, but you might like it. The dog is definitely key to the story!

Michael Bond's Monsieur Pamplemousse series.
Monsieur Pamplemousse's sidekick is his faithful bloodhound Pomme Frites. (Not sure if they're available as ebooks.) |

Spencer Quinn is writing a series of mysteries starring Chet and Bernie: Bernie is the (human) detective, Chet is his dog, and the narrator.
There are two books out (Dog On It, Thereby Hangs a Tail), and the third will be out soon. |

"Cozy mysteries" (whatever that term actually means) are full of awful puns.
Sometimes the books themselves are quite entertaining, in spite of their titles. |

"Dog On It" by Spencer Quinn. About a private detective and a dog, written from the dog's point of view. Very cute.
I believe he's written another book in the series, too, but I haven't read it. Edit: Shoulda read thread. Already been mentioned. Sorry! Last edited by bjones6416; 07-08-2010 at 08:07 AM. |
