New Member w/Questions
Just registered. I am going to buy an eBook reader, currently thinking about a Barnes & Noble Nook w/Wifi. I was looking for a list of free nookbooks & free classics, etc. in order to make a list for downloading when I get the Nook.
I am a voracious reader and that's all I want the eBook for. I like the larger font choices, the lower prices and no requirement for bookshelves. Can I get a little feedback as to whether I should get the Nookbook or a Kindle? I've done some research on the web and all the comparisons rate the Kindle number one with the Nookbook a close second. The battery time difference is not very significant to me. I guess I prefer the Nook because I have a Barnes & Noble nearby and I need only take the Nook to them and they will replace it if something is wrong with it. Also, they have a store rep who is always available for Q&A. With the Kindle, I would have to send it back to Amazon since their Kindle is proprietary. Whadaya think? |

Welcome to mobileread.... I have neither so cannot comment - but someone will, no doubt. Have a look at the reader links in my signature line - they may help. |

Given that this is my first time checking this thread I would strongly recommend that you post your question in the "which one should I buy" board. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=123 |

Welcome to MobileRead, Carl.
Regardless of which device you get, I would suggest downloading public domain books from our site. They are formatted by our own members, checked for errors and surplus pages. Click on the link below for more info. |

Hello there and welcome! I'm quite new myself, but it seems to be a great place to talk to people who have used various readers. Good luck!

Good to have your company, Carl. One thing to consider is that Kindle handles only its own Mobi format. Nook does well with ePub, which is the standard elsewhere and a pretty popular format for free classics, other public domain free books and for libraries. Best wishes. Neil
