New Yorker Magazine Cover - Fiction Edition
The cover of the current New Yorker magazine features an intriguing take on the future of reading.
http://archives.newyorker.com/?i=2009-06-08 An alien sits amidst the wreckage of various electronic reading/storage devices (a shattered Kindle 1 prominently in the foreground) reading a dead tree book. Sort of a cosmic "I told you so" from publishers? |

without reading the article it's hard to interpret the picture.
it can be explained both ways pro e-readers 1) if humans don't adapt to ereaders, the only people who'd read in the future are aliens, as earth has become a dead place and humans are extinct pro dead books ereaders can't outlive books |
