Thought this article at Huffington Post might be of interest to MR members. (Hope I got the link right.)

But it really focus on "physical" books. I don't have piles of books over the floor... but I have nice pen drives and hard disks with thousands of books...

I don't have any books on the floor either. Just on shelves, a cart, bathroom basket, my night stand and most of the craft books are in a file cabinet.

I think this word can be extended to ebooks Though I totally know what this word means. It takes all the will I have not to buy a ton of used books and crowd my house with them. I have gotten better with this though. It used to be a bad habit.

I thought of my Southern Living Annual Recipes which are on shelf but some are stacked on top of others.

This has come up before. I think there's a thread in the Lounge, too. Always relevant, though, and I do have books on the floor.

I've read of someone who had to sleep on top of the piles near the ceiling, since he had no more floor space. He ended up succumbing to the fumes that the books gave off and dying up there. I'm not sure if "baka" applies in that case, since his mania seemed to be severe enough that it was probably a medical condition. Perhaps you could apply "baka" to those who ignore the bowing of their floor under the weight of the books, and keep adding until the floor collapses.

Have some "physical" books on the shelves but not on the floor. Used to have a habit to buy "physical" books...
