Even though I am exclusively using WinCE for ebook reading I got this and upgraded to version 5. Tested my 4 gb sdhc card that wouldn't boot up WinCE before and it now does.

So very happy with this upgrade.

Looks like it is still back at 0.8.something. I've installed 0.10.7 from debian sid, does it add anything particularly exciting?

@kaosnews: thank you for the mirrors! The SmartDevices server is damn slow...

The newest version of SmartQ 7's firmware looks good! However, it has problems with the screen rotation script. The screen rotates but the OS doesn't respond to touches afterwards. But you can still use the mouse. I think that its modified xorg.conf isn't compatible with the newer Ubuntu version.

My sdcard works better now, but ubuntu seems a lot slower. But then again I am using Windows CE so the better boot is better for me.

The dock

I do like this upgrade, did it a couple of days ago. Seems to load faster to the desktop but takes a bit longer to find the SD card. I like the dock idea as a way to quickly access programs, but I have one question.

Does anyone know how to add or remove items from the dock. I can go without the 3G (at the price of 3G in Australia!) but I would like to replace it with Comix, so I can go into the program I use most on the machine.

Is this officialy released? I don't see a Ver.5.0 in the Smartdevices site.

It's official it just hasn't made it to the 'English' page yet.
Looking at the previous post see you found it OK

I mirrored the files to Megaupload and Netload, because both the official site and Rapidshare are quite slow here (took me about an hour to download the file, with Megaupload about a minute):

Nope, all I meant with my comment was that previously I couldn't dual boot with the sdhc card I had but with the version 5 release I can.

So I was pleased! Even though I'm not using Ubuntu.
