That's a lot if accurate. Hell, that's a lot if only half that much.

Well we bought 2 of them ... Maybe they should pay us Commission, a little over the price of two Kindles perhaps ?

I wonder how many they are selling outside of the US? Any guesstimates on those figures?

Total 2009 = 2.4m Q1 2010 = 1m Q2 2010 = 1.5m Q3 2010 = 2m Q4 2010 = 3.5m Obviously there is no way to know if these numbers even remotely approach reality, but it at least plausible. Quote:
It is possible Amazon intentionally leaked the numbers, but that still doesn't guarantee veracity. |

The report also said that Apple sold 7.46 million iPads! Given its price, I found this surprising. So the iPad clearly isn't negatively affecting Kindle sales, as predicted. Many people are buying both.

Even so, it's great news that the Kindle is doing so well. That $139 price point has opened the flood gates. Just wait until next Christmas when that number drops to $99 Lee |

Dec. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Amazon.com Inc. is likely to sell more than 8 million Kindle electronic-book readers this year, at least 60 percent more than analysts have predicted, according to two people who are aware of the company’s sales projections. |

This is just a bunch of rubbish. Amazon doesn't release hard numbers. So, this is all guesswork.

However, there are only a few days to go so the projected part could not have been more than a million or so and Amazon did briefly run out of K3 WiFi's - so pre-Christmas sales have not tapered off. Amazon does not release numbers, but this does not mean they don't have numbers and their projections are likely to be very accurate because sales numbers and projections are how on-line retailers maximize their profit. |

To be honest, unless we see hard numbers direct from Amazon, this could be just guesswork. So really, it's rubbish. And it will remain rubbish until we get real numbers direct from Amazon.
