Yup, took care of that too, thanks. Also installed the JB Hotfix found in Nijule's snapshot thread.(I was supposed to do that one, right...??)

Hi,

I have an OA3 with 5.13.7.1. After the sideload, hard reset and Sideload without USB Connection, I have no "Help & User Guides" Only "Set Up Your Kindle"

If that i will send my kindle to amazon and go to a kobo...

Which particular model do you have? The Popcorn jailbreak is available for some models and others have a hardware jailbreak available.

At this point in time there is no software jailbreak for that firmware level.

Hey, guys! Newbie here.
I just got a kindle off of eBay and really wanted to jailbreak it. As soon as I connected it to WiFi tho, it automatically updated itself /I'm stupid, I know/.. It's a Kindle 10th Gen on 5.15.1
My question is: is there something I can do with it, jailbreakwise? Suppose there's no way of downgrading?

Hello,
I wanted to thank you for all of these explanations. After quite a bit of reading and asking (thanks for the help). I finally found a PW5 11th with firmware 5.14.2 (it was 5.14.0.1) then I updated it and followed the instruction. I had a lot of trouble with KUAL because the official version didn't work, I had to take the other link. Then I got KOREADER, the best of all readers (which I used on my 7th PW) and finally I installed Python & Python3 to run Sox (audio books) and now I just have to figure out how to ACTIVATE the bluetooth because I do not have the option in my Kindle (and despite the change of language on USA or UK impossible to have the logo as we can see it on the net)
If anyone has an idea... thanks

And voila, I'm disgusted I broke everything...
I reset my PW5 (5.14.2) that I had previously Jailbroken, I redid the manipulation and impossible to update the last file, the "update" box is greyed out, yet the jailbreak went well. What can I do ?

I am desperate...
Can anybody help me?
Here is the recap:
- I followed the jailbreak and everything worked. Yesterday I did a factory reset. And trying to reinstall the jailbreak I saw that the box "update your kindle" is grayed out. I read in a forum that the jailbreak was apparently present. Except that by reinstalling Kual, Koreader no longer launches. I had installed the "Rename OTA binaries" plugin but restore does not work.

That quite probably breaks the OTA process anyway (but I don't know if it *also* breaks the sanity check that causes the UYK button to be grayed out).

(There's a reason I've been very hesitant about explicitly linking to it in the docs: this sort of not-necessarily-explicit-to-newcomers-side-effect is pretty much it).
