Oh, this new version of aaxtomp3 is perfect! Exactly what I needed! Thanks so much.

P.S. Can someone help? I changed the settings to a sample rate of 44100 Hz and a bit rate of 96000 bps to match the output I had been getting in SoundTaxi, but my result is a speeded-up mess. Maybe I'm supposed to put something in the ffmpeg output box, but I don't know what.

It converts fine if I leave the defaults.

P.P.S. Never mind. I've lowered the sample rate and at 22050 Hz and 96000 bps it sounds fine.

Is the new version still all in German? I'll be looking into this when I get home! Splitting at Chapters would be wonderful.

Oh, so much nicer! And it lets you set up the metadata with cover, too. I haven't experimented with bitrates.

Too bad the "audible hopes you have enjoyed this program" didn't split out to a separate (and easily deleted) chapter.

I still used mp3tag for the metadata. I am anal that way--I don't want the first file to say "chapter 1" when it's actually the prologue!

I'll check it out, but the new AAX2MP3 does allow you to change the names of each "chapter". You just have to know what it is you want to change it to. I don't like it to just show "chapter 1" when it's playing, so I experimented with a novella changed the descriptions to "series" - "title" - ch01 (02, 03, etc.) and that worked. A bit manual - not sure for some of my that have 70-80 chapters I'd want to do it that way.

But I'll search for mp3tag to see how that works. Anything to make the process easier - I have *lots* of Audible audiobooks that I'd like to liberate.
