I doubt it is size, much more likely to be some markup BS is parsing incorrectly.

Tried to download FA magazine using calibre 2.61.0 - 64 bit. Download completes but EPUB file has cover and 29 pages of hyperlinks to non-existent articles.

Can't help with the issue but the installation of an older version won't change the recipes; those get auto updated by calibre to the current versions.

Tried to download FA magazine today using calibre 3.33.1 - 64 bit. Download fails with the error message below.

Last successful download was November 2018. Last recipe update was 15 November 2016.

Looking at Foreign Affairs Magazine Current Issue page (https://www.foreignaffairs.com/issues/2019/98/1) it looks like the page layout has changed since last year, but not 100% sure.

The website has been changed to use javascript to load the content on the index page, which makes it more work than I am interested in doing to parse it.

There are some other options I will investigate.
