Any image files need to be local to yor PC - calibre does not grab images from the Internet. I am guessing that the way you created the HTML had not pulled down the images so that they were local files?

Hi, it works when pulled down the images.
But when I convert html to pdf without pulled down the images,it still work.So I am guessing that the calibre can grab images from the Internet. But why the calibre does not grab images when convert html to mobi ?
That's amazing!!

Could it be the .pdf format allows (external) linked images while .mobi doesn't?

That 'magic' pdf you've created, does it show the images if you disconnect from the internet before opening it for reading?

It works because the pdf output plugin in calibre uses a nrowser to render the thml as pdf. The browser downloads images from the internet automatically.

Mr.kovidgoyal.I have some suggestions for the calibre creators.
Although,there is a calibre User Manual,but it does't detailed .
Such as, although I can find a command function like this "ebook-convert --level1-toc",but I can't easy to know the parameters for this function. So I hope the user manual will have some examples for every command function.
Think you!

More than half the pages in the calibre user manual are filled with command-line triggers and their parameters.. -- The table of content will help you find your way through there.
