But her To Rescue a Rogue is on my top-10 favorites list...if you can stand to skip books in a series. Quote:
I actually have the first two in paperback - they were in that small group of books I kept when I moved and knew, since I was only reading digital versions, there wasn't a lot of point in keeping them, but I couldn't let those go. For those not familiar with the series, I would call these "futuristics" not "science-fiction romance". They're sort of like the "mistoricals" Blossom talks about. The world-building isn't perfect, nor is the politics. But they're fun reads. Last edited by FizzyWater; 06-22-2014 at 10:53 PM. |

Luckily my library has the Loretta Chase one. She's an autobuy for me. Maybe Scribd will get it too. I'd probably wait for it to go on sale as who knows when I would read it. Just got my books out of storage and it was like Christmas I'd forgotten half of what I own. We need a virtual shelves program so we can display all our books.

However if they do choose to edit/add I'm not often if ever interested because I feel like I must be missing something of the original. It's generally different for me when it's a self-pubbed book which gets picked up by a publisher and it goes through an editing process (assuming it didn't when self-pubbed). Another thing I'm not fond of is when the "update" their story to make it feel more modern (add cell phones, kindles, etc). One solution would be to put out two editions. They already have the original written so go ahead and put that out and then if you want to put out a second edition or special edition with whatever adds/subtracts/updating they want. |

Plus as I think we've discussed before I read a lot of romantic suspense. If they update an 80s/early 90s story to present day to make it "better" for modern audiences, they basically have to rewrite the entire book to addresss just the issue of cell phones or why the characters didn't use the internet to discover some piece of information. |

I've just discovered a writer by the name Nina D'Angelo. She has published 3 books so far (romantic suspense or mysteries / thrillers).
The reviews seem rather good, and the books are currently .99 each, so I just went ahead and grabbed them all. Nowhere to Run (Stephanie Carovella #1) Amazon | Kobo Quote:

I have all of her books in paperback. She's one of a handful of authors I discovered at the very beginning of her career. |

A new anthology at $.99 : Rapture (Amazon | Kobo)
I'm still not sure if I want to buy it because I'm only interested in Mia Sheridan, and I've had all her books so far (but I haven't read any yet). I'm also trying to restrict myself from adding too many new / unknown authors to my TBR pile. Quote:

Another freebie from NoiseTrade...Barbara Cartland Audiobook
I do not remember to check noisetrade that often. But It's $6.02 value with Audible if you don't get it with free audible sign up, so here's the link to request it and they should send the download code by email, as they do with the free mobi/nook eBooks.
NoiseTrade free audiobook of Barbara Cartland's THE CROSS OF LOVE amazon.com synopsis...224 pages When Rena's father dies she is alone in the world, forced out of the vicarage that has been her home, with nowhere to go and no money. She seeks help at the large wooden cross standing in the nearby grounds of The Grange. And there in the earth she finds three golden coins, which she hands over to the new young Earl of Lansdale. They form a friendship, the sweetest one of her life. But her new happiness is threatened by Mr. Wyngate, a wealthy man determined to force the Earl to marry his daughter. There is something sinister about Mr. Wyngate, also another man who looks mysteriously like him, and seems to come and go without warning. In the end, one man lies dead and another's heart is broken before Rena's faith and courage triumph. If you enjoy Downton Abbey you will love Barbara Cartland. |

Here's the link to more romance freebies at noisetrade...
some are eBook, some are audio...too many to list and I only got Crucifix, Jigsaw by D.N. Leo's romance and more Crucifix Book 1 and a Ben and Jerry's recipes (non-romance) at NoiseTrade for free. I have not read either, yet, but there are many others SO...enjoy! I couldn't believe that Barbara Cartland was on NoiseTrade...and yes you can decide to donate $1 for the author's efforts, it is entirely your choice. A good review goes a long way, if the book is worthy, in addition.
