indtalled TTS-engine plugin does not read chapter

I am running Sigil version 0.9.9 with an epub 3.0 file loaded. The engine installed the following link: <link rel="Stylesheet" href="../Styles/Stylesheet.css" type="text/css"/>
<meta charset="utf-8"/>
<script src="../Misc/tts.en-US.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
</head>
<body>
<section class="body-rw chapter-rw" epub:type="bodymatter chapter">
<header>
<h1 class="chapter-title" style="text-align: right;">Chapte<span class="last-letter">r</span> 1<a id="tts"> 🗣</a></h1>
</header>

But when I click on the icon, nothing happens, no sound, nothing. What do I need to do to be able to have Sigil read sections of text or chapters?

The author of this particular plugin doesn't seem to be participating in our community. This will make it hard for us to help troubleshoot it. Have you tried contacting the plugin author with your issues?

When I add the engine to a chapter xhtml, I get this message:

Status: success

Plugin using PyQt5, bundled Python may not work
TTS javascript file is existed.

What do I need to do to get Sigil to use PyQt5 version of python?

I'm trying to tell you that I have no idea what the problem is. That plugin is not hosted here. It's not in our plugin index, and it doesn't have a support thread here. In short... we know nothing about this plugin. I repeat: have you tried contacting the plugin author via the github issue database where the code is hosted?

Sigil's bundled Python includes a subset of PyQt5. You don't have to DO anything (other than make sure "Use Bundled Python" is checked) to use it. If this plugin needs additional PyQt5 modules that are not included (or you're using Linux), you'll have to use an external Python interpreter and have all the plugin's dependencies installed--whatever those dependencies are. The plugin's author should be able to give you advice there.

Are you sure this plugin is supposed to make Sigil do TTS and not just create an epub that an official epub reader with tts support can use?

Which plugin are you using? On what platform? Do you have a download link?

@dlibke: Since Microsoft Edge natively supports epubs and TTS you don't need to embed Javascript files in epubs for TTS output.
For more information on how to use the Read Aloud TTS feature in Microsoft Edge see this tutorial.

(To open epub files with Microsoft Edge you'll have to right-click them and select Microsoft Edge from the Open with menu.)
