How to let the plugins to connect the internet via VPN

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask, but I have searched for a long time and still couldn't find a solution.

One of my plugins has to use the services provided by Google and Wikepedia, which both are blocked by my ISP. I can access these two websites via VPN, but I couldn't find a way to let the Calibre plugin to do so.

Please can you tell me what I should do if you happen to know how? Thanks in advance.

--------
My gut feeling is that the plugin is using python to connect to Google and Wikipedia. But I don't know how to set the python environment that Calibre uses to use VPN.

OK, thank you. I tried to add a new environment variable "http_proxy", with the value as the address of my PAC address (http://127.0.0.1:1094/pac?t=1658878244355). But it still doesn't work.

I guess I'm not truly understand how it works...

Are you sure you are using a VPN? VPN should handle all your data through it without any configuration.

If you're using HTTP proxy you should read these documents: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...-my-http-proxy and https://requests.readthedocs.io/en/l...anced/#proxies
