Most fun/interesting books you have read.

Ok, I'll start this off...

My favorites:

Angles & Demons - Dan Brown
Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown
- actually, I enjoyed all of Dan Brown's books
Dragon Lance (The Chronicles Trilogy) - Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman

In the Da Vinci code vein, sort of, I like The Club Dumas.

In the mystery-thriller vein, Dean Koontz's Whispers

I've recently finished The Shadow of the Wind, very neat book.

Um..........I have no problem with those Dan Brown books, but standby for some bashing.

Take no offense.....

South by Ernest Shackleton, first published 1919.

http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5199

It is interesting (besides being a good read) because I have heard that South sometimes makes it onto the reading lists for various MBA courses in management.

I'm pretty taken with Rick Yancey's Monstrumologist series--"The Monstrumologist" and the recently released "The Curse of the Wendigo." What fun they were! Good old fashioned gothic horror adventures with seriously compelling characters.

The Dark Tower Trilogy by Stephen King is by far the best series I've ever read. I'm going to reread all 7 books (again) during my Christmas holiday

Also anything written by Robin Hobb. An author I've recently discovered is Brent Weeks. His new book (The Black Prism) is absolutely amazing !!

The most fun book I've ever read is the Norwegian book "Madonna-gåten" (The Madonna Riddle). It is a spoof of "The da Vinci Code". In order to understand and enjoy the "Madonna-gåten" one must have read "The da Vinci Code" first.
"The da Vinci Code", I found interesting as well.

Authors that interest me are Dean Koontz and Clive Cussler.

When it comes to the "all-time-high", it must be "The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide" by Douglas Adams.

This is certainly worth a read or re-read under the heading of "fun/interesting" books:
Mark Twain's The Innocents Abroad.

The most funny - any Carl Hiaasen books… in audiobook, even more hilarious!

The most interesting - Job: A Comedy of Justice by Robert A. Heinlein
I can not forget the two final paragraphs (and one of the most beautiful love phrases I have ever read):
«Samuel Clemens phrased it: `Where she was, there was Eden.’ Omar phrased it: `thou beside me in the wilderness, ah wilderness were paradise enow.’ Brrowning termed it: `Summum Bonum’. All were asserting the same great truth, wish is for me:
Heaven is where Margrethe is.»

Best regards,
