Meanwhile, thinking of colours that are also other things, such as flame and rose. (And yes, I am deliberately pushing the boundaries of the themes.)

Even without pushing the boundaries I am surprised how many books I have read or are on my TBR that work for these themes. Over 20 in each and almost 90 for "the book came first".

I'm finding the same thing. Lot's of choices, some old favourites, others sitting in my TBR.

Looking through my TBR and wish lists, I’m finding lots of theme-appropriate books!

I’ve been desperately trying to think of a name for the book club, but can’t think of anything I want to suggest.

I like The New Leaf though, since a leaf isn’t just a leaf from a tree. It’s thin. And there’s metal leaf (silver, gold etc) used in crafts (creativity and metal), and the hinged part of a door is also called a leaf (the opening of a book/device cover) and leaf can also be a part of a window.

So there is a fun word play, and it incorporates thinness, metal and glass, and the protective flap, on our e-readers

and the association of a window also reminds me of looking through the window to see new things

I doubt it. I just happen to have good records that I can sort and filter quickly. I'm sure others have way more than I do.
