I also liked IDW's Dungeons and Dragons and Dark Sun series (you have to pay $25 to get all of those though).

Anyway, lots of good comics here if you like fantasy, wizards and monsters. Comics that aren't about superheroes. How novel.

*I wish they would republish Spelljammer and Gammarauders, but those were weird comics that never sold well.
Cool. I see Homeland (Drizzt) is there. Do you know if they ever made comics of the Icewind Dale trilogy and are those part of the bundle?

They were adapted, but are not part of this bundle. There have been previous D&D comics Humble Bundles (above the Drizzt book it says Pay $25 or more to also unlock! Please note the books in this tier were included in the last IDW D&D comics bundle), but I missed them.

Here's a link to the ComiXology page for those.

I've not read any of the books. My one experience with Salvatore was starting the first book of the Cleric Quintet and it was god-awful and childish. Also, Drizzt feels like a bit of an edgelord to me.

I've not read any of those books though, so I may be wildly off base. I do have the first six books in paperback. I picked them up when I was picking up a bunch of D&D novels.

Two graphic novels by by Gene Luen Yang for $2.99 on Amazon.com:

American Born Chinese - Link
Quote:
A tour-de-force by rising indy comics star Gene Yang, American Born Chinese tells the story of three apparently unrelated characters: Jin Wang, who moves to a new neighborhood with his family only to discover that he's the only Chinese-American student at his new school; the powerful Monkey King, subject of one of the oldest and greatest Chinese fables; and Chin-Kee, a personification of the ultimate negative Chinese stereotype, who is ruining his cousin Danny's life with his yearly visits. Their lives and stories come together with an unexpected twist in this action-packed modern fable. American Born Chinese is an amazing ride, all the way up to the astonishing climax.
Boxers & Saints - Link
Quote:
In two volumes, Boxers & Saints tells two parallel stories. The first is of Little Bao, a Chinese peasant boy whose village is abused and plundered by Westerners claiming the role of missionaries. Little Bao, inspired by visions of the Chinese gods, joins a violent uprising against the Western interlopers. Against all odds, their grass-roots rebellion is successful.

But in the second volume, Yang lays out the opposite side of the conflict. A girl whose village has no place for her is taken in by Christian missionaries and finds, for the first time, a home with them. As the Boxer Rebellion gains momentum, Vibiana must decide whether to abandon her Christian friends or to commit herself fully to Christianity.

Boxers & Saints is one of the most ambitious graphic novels First Second has ever published. It offers a penetrating insight into not only one of the most controversial episodes of modern Chinese history, but into the very core of our human nature. Gene Luen Yang is rightly called a master of the comics form, and this book will cement that reputation.

The two volumes in the Tea Dragon series by K. O'Neill are $3.49 and $6.99 on Amazon.com
These are:
The Tea Dragon Society
The Tea Dragon Festival

It's about dragons who sprout tea leaves. Drinking their tea evokes memories...(?)

Here's the description of the first volume:
Quote:
From the award-winning author of Princess Princess Ever After comes The Tea Dragon Society, a charming all-ages book that follows the story of Greta, a blacksmith apprentice, and the people she meets as she becomes entwined in the enchanting world of tea dragons.

After discovering a lost tea dragon in the marketplace, Greta learns about the dying art form of tea dragon care-taking from the kind tea shop owners, Hesekiel and Erik. As she befriends them and their shy ward, Minette, Greta sees how the craft enriches their lives -- and eventually her own.

There's a Mark Millar Millarworld Humble Bundle.

If you don't know, Mark Millar is a comic writer who has a knack for getting his creator-owned works turned into movies and TV series. This bundle includes Kick-Ass, The Kingsmen, Jupiter's Legacy, Wanted, waaaay too much Hit Girl and even stuff that hasn't been adapted (yet).

$25 gets you everything. There's lower tiers, but Humble Bundle seems to have changed their site, so I'm not sure what is left out of them.

Jack Kirby: The Epic Life of the King of Comics by Tom Scioli is $4.99 at Amazon US.

I'm a fan of Tom's, though I'm not sure here why he made Jack look like a manga character. Anyway, I bought the book a few weeks ago for $9 and thought I was getting a good deal.

Quote:
Told in vivid graphic novel form by a groundbreaking Eisner-nominated comics creator, the long-overdue biography of the legend who co-created Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and many more superhero favorites.

“A fast-paced celebration of an underheralded legend within the comic-book industry.”—Kirkus Reviews

NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY LIBRARY JOURNAL

This sweeping, full-color comic book biography tells the complete life story of Jack Kirby, co-creator of some of the most enduring superheroes and villains of the twentieth century for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and more. Critically acclaimed graphic novelist Tom Scioli breathes visual life into Kirby's life story--from his days growing up in New York during the Great Depression and discovering a love for science fiction and cartoons to his time on the frontlines in the European theatre of World War II where he experienced the type of action and adventure he'd later imbue his comic pages with, and on to his world-changing collaborations at Marvel with Stan Lee, where the pair redefined comics as a part of pop culture.

Just as every great superhero needs a villain to overcome, Kirby's story also includes his struggles to receive the recognition and compensation that he believed his work deserved. Scioli captures his moves from Marvel to DC and back again, showing how Kirby himself and later his family fought to preserve his artistic legacy.

Drawn from an unparalleled imagination and a life as exciting as his comic book tales, Kirby's super-creations have influenced subsequent generations of creatives in the comics field and beyond. Now, readers can experience the life and times of a comics titan through the medium that made him famous.

The Final Girls by Sally Cantirino, Cara Ellison, Gab Contreras, Katie West, Joamette Gil is $0.99 on Amazon.com and Comixology
Quote:
When the world's most powerful working hero asks her retired peers for help, they secretly agree to deal out punishment on another hero in the public eye. But when the weapon of publicity is wielded, it threatens to kick up all of the personal traumas of the heroes, past and present... What does justice look like when violence isn't enough?

All of Locke and Key is on sale at Amazon. The first book is $0.99 and the next six are $1.99 a piece.

Locke and Key is Joe Hill's horror comic series about a family that moves in to a New England mansion left to them in a will and finds it is full of doors that do magical things.

A very good series. There's a Netflix adaptation that is also excellent, though season two has been on the way since forever. Hopefully this sale is due to Season two being on the way?

$13 for the whole series is a very good deal.

Season 2 premieres on Netflix this Friday, October 22. A third season has apparently already been filmed.

I'm going to have to give the show another shot. I am a HUGE fan of the comics series and had trouble adjusting to the myriad, often-drastic changes they made to it.

Also: A 2-part crossover with Sandman has just been published (with Neil Gaiman's blessing).

The first issue is currently available for $0.99. The second issue is $6.99.

I myself plan on picking up Locke & Key: The Golden Age, which will collect the Sandman cross-over along with several other standalone stories, when it is published next March.

I guess I'm lucky. I'd only read the first book before seeing the show.

Yeh, there's another series: Locke and Key: Small World, referencing his mom Tabitha King's novel.

I just stuck to the main series and Locke & Key: Heaven & Earth (which is also $1.99).
