I usually read medievals and Regencies, but am wanting to branch out a bit.

I actually snorted, I laughed so hard. What an unfortunate title!

Made my DANL pick just now, went with the higlander title. I love me some highlanders. Still have two credits, so I may also get the Amelia Grey. I will probably wait until I have read her recent 99 cent title to decide, though. Sometimes her books are very good, and sometimes the historical improbability and inaccuracies are just too much.

My favorite is Jodi Thomas but her good ones aren't in ebooks. Judith Stacy westerns are pretty good. Most of the westerns I've read are in paperback but in ebook you can take a look at Pam Crooks, Carol Finch, Kate Bridges, Ruth Langan, Elaine Levine and Bobbi Smith. I just bought Samantha James Outlaw Hearts which is a western. Lori Copeland older titles before she cleaned them up for inspirational rebirth. Lorraine Heath's older ones. Lori Handeland which you may already have....

I got the I, Own the Dawn for my pick. Went to buy Cowboy Crazy only to find out the coupon no longer works so I decided to wait and see for now.

Love Will Find a Way by Barbara Freethy (previously published by Avon in 2002)

Quote:
Six months after Rachel Tanner's husband, Gary, dies in an automobile accident, the insurance company rules that his death was a suicide. Refusing to believe that Gary would kill himself, Rachel leaves their apple orchard home and goes to San Francisco, where her husband kept an apartment to use weekdays. She talks his best friend and partner, Dylan Prescott, into searching the apartment with her. As the two look for clues, Rachel notices a perfume bottle on Gary's dresser...and it isn't hers. Later, when Dylan brings Gary's things home to Rachel he impulsively offers to finish the dream house that Gary had started for Rachel. As indications of Gary's other life begin to surface, Dylan has a hard time keeping his own secret hidden he's loved Rachel since he first set eyes on her. A second love story, that of Rachel's younger sister, is skillfully interwoven throughout the book.

Lady in Waiting by Denise Domning (published by Avon 1998)

Quote:
Everyone dances for the Virgin Queen, Protestant and Catholic alike. For one man and one woman, courtly schemes and personal betrayals sweep them into a dangerous dance of plots to defy crown and country that could ultimately cost them their lives, and their love.

Today Freebies:

When Calls the Heart by Janette Oke (Canadian West Book #1)
This is an oldie but goodie. I have the paperback. I grew up on her books. This is also available at ChristianBook in epub. Which is worldwide.

Chasing Rainbows by Victoria Lynne (Historical Western)
Formally Published by Dell in 1997.
Note: I own this one. I bought all her books last year.

Jane Millionaire
by Janice Lynn (Contemporary Romance)
Formally published by Dorchester as a LoveSpell in 2005.
Janice Lynn writes for the Harlequin Medical line

Causing A Commotion by Janice Lynn (Contemporary Romance)
This looks to be a new story.

Single and Searching by Rita Herron (Romantic Comedy)
I am thrilled she is publishing her old books that border on the line of ChickLit.
If you never heard of her she writes now for Harlequin and I am slowly collecting all her books.

Love is All Around by Rae Davies (Lori Devoti)(Contemporary Romance)
Formally published by Zebra in 2005.

Repeat Freebie:
Kill the Competition (a humorous romantic mystery) by Stephanie Bond.
Formally published by Avon in 2003.
Note: The original cover is scary! I would have never known this was suppose to be funny! What was Avon thinking?!?

One More:

Secrets by Kristen Heitzmann (Romantic Suspense)
Kindle U.S ChristianBook Nook

OK, I am officially pathetic! This is the only title I didn't already have. I double checked the prices, too, they were free at time of purchase. I have found a book or two I've purchased that have become free later. Always hate when that happens, but at least it wasn't the case with any of these.

I had these on wishlist for a long time. I didn't even put two and two together because the covers are different than the paperback versions. Geesh! I'm the pathetic one. I also own them all now! I was introduced to Rita when she wrote a two part modern western with Debra Webb. Since then I have bought all her HQ ebooks.

Burning Up by Susan Andersen is $1.54 on Kindle.

Quote:
Though it's been years since the infamous Macy O'James stepped foot in Sugarville, Washington, everyone remembers what she supposedly did. The tiny town is still buzzing about her crime and lack of punishment.

Now back to lend her family a hand, Macy vows to hold her head high—especially at her high school reunion. But forget about the hottest man in Sugarville escorting her. Though she and fire chief Gabriel Donovan generate enough sparks to burn down the town, he's a law-abiding, line-toeing straight arrow. So not her type.

But maybe—just maybe—he can change her mind about that.
A very nice price! I do believe this one is a stand alone. I am currently making way through her Marine series. Her Baby series is indeed awesome! Baby I'm Yours is what hooked me on her books.

I love her humor! I am a fan of Susan Andersen, Christie Craig and Jennifer Crusie. I'm always looking for more authors who write this style of writing.
